Hi All, We have had great recent weather, this has enabled the builders to make some progress, we are very nearly water tight and impressive new Georgian 6 over 6 sashes have been fitted to the front of the building, the scaffold is on its way down and the world seems a happier place.Still plenty to do before my hair grows back and the worry lines disappear,I'm sure it will all be worth it, that's what i keep telling myself and the accountant anyway. Please keep following, I know the blogs are a little infrequent but not a lot has happened to get excited about, things should start to develope and as they do i will keep you informed.
Thanks Chris.

Offical Welcome.
Hi, Welcome to the Castle Inn blog.My name is Chris and along with my wife Jayne and our 2 sons Tom and Oliver we will be running The Castle Inn. I am hoping to keep you all informed of the ongoing status of The Castle Inn. Firstly the subtle name change, we decided to change the name to remove any connection there may be with the previous ownership and to show this is a new start under new ownership,as mentioned the business will re-open under as The Castle Inn as historically the premises was an old coaching inn serving travellers crossing the Lancashire/Yorkshire borders,we will hope to create 4/5 star accommodation accredited through Lancashire and Blackpool tourist board and Visit Britain,in conjunction with a quality bar/restaurant specialising in locally sourced and seasonal produce. We have taken great care in the design stage to plan and create a warm welcoming and relaxing ambiance for both local and staying guests to enjoy. We also have a function room ideal for small weddings, birthdays and corporate events. If you are local you will have seen the extensive work being carried out to bring The Castle Inn back to its glorious best. This has not always gone to plan and with all old buildings it has managed to conceal many suprises, not all welcome I may add, as a result the opening has been put back by several weeks, but i am sure it will all be worth it in the end. I will post a slide show for the benefit of visitors to the blog so they can see the extent of the renovation of both the exterior and interior of the building. We are looking forward to opening are doors for business in the late spring/early summer time weather and builders permitting, we hope to meet you all then. Chris.
